Easter Fun!

We had a quiet little Easter this year. The kids woke up sunday morning and found that the Easter Bunny had hung their baskets over the 2 story balcony with kite string of all things. So it was quite a spectacle to retreive. We went to church (I had to give a talk in Sacrament meeting). Peter cooked the entire Easter sunday dinner, Ham, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, aspeargus, deviled eggs and chocolate covered strawberries. We got to eat on the "fancy table". The kids all worked together to do the dishes, only my glass cake stand broke, but other than that it was perfect. It almost felt like mothers day! We did'nt have a family easter egg hunt because it rained all weekend, but Sara and I had an egg hunt in the muddy grass the next day for preschool.

I have been reading 'The Continuous Atonement" by Brad Wilcox and was struck by how he discussed the scripture in 2 Nephi 25:23. "For we know that it is by grace that we are saved, after all we can do" He talked about how Christ's power is not an emergency generator that turns on once our supply is exhausted. It is not a booster engine once we run out of steam. Rather, it is our constant energy source and that we recieve his grace before, during and after the time when we expend our own efforts.
